Job Summary.


The Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth across CIO Africa’s event portfolio through sponsorship sales, exhibition packages, delegate ticket sales, and advertising solutions.


This role requires a proactive, target-driven professional who can build strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and deliver exceptional end-to-end customer experiences.


 Key Responsibilities


 Client Relationship Management



  • Drive revenue through sponsorship, exhibition, delegate, and advertising sales across CIO Africa events.

  • Manage client relationships throughout the full customer lifecycle, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.

  • Maintain consistent, high-quality communication with clients across all touchpoints.

  • Ensure seamless delivery of client expectations during event execution.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on sales activity and client engagement.


New Business Development



  • Identify, engage, and convert new prospects aligned with CIO Africa’s offerings.

  • Present compelling value propositions to potential clients through calls, meetings, and presentations.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team on targeted campaigns and lead generation initiatives.

  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline across all product offerings.

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets across sponsorships, exhibitions, delegate tickets, and advertising packages.


Sales Performance & Activity Management



  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue targets.

  • Maintain high sales activity levels

  • Track and report on performance against defined KPIs and targets.


 Reporting & CRM Management



  • Maintain accurate, real-time updates of all client interactions within the CRM system.

  • Prepare monthly sales performance reports comparing actuals vs targets.

  • Submit trip reports within 48 hours of any out-of-territory travel

  • Participate in weekly pipeline and product meetings, ensuring all trackers and reports are up to date.

  • Provide daily activity reporting on outreach and engagement efforts.


 Financial Management & Payment Follow-up



  • Monitor individual sales performance against revenue targets and budgets.

  • Work closely with the finance team to track and follow up on outstanding payments.

  • Proactively engage clients on payment timelines, particularly 3–6 weeks prior to events

  • Ensure timely resolution of any payment discrepancies to support smooth event delivery.


Education


Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, IT or a related field
