Job Description

Key Responsibilities


As the Entry-Level Accountant, you will:



  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.

  • Process supplier invoices, payments, receipts, and customer invoices.

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Assist with preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.

  • Support statutory compliance, including VAT, PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, and other tax obligations.

  • Maintain petty cash records and monitor company expenses.

  • Assist with payroll preparation and reconciliation.

  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes.

  • Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.

  • Maintain organized financial records, both physical and electronic.

  • Assist in inventory and asset reconciliations where required.

  • Perform any other finance and administrative duties assigned by management.


Qualifications & Experience


To succeed in this role, you should have:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.

  • CPA Part II or above (CPA finalist is an added advantage).

  • Between 2 and 4 years' experience in an accounting or finance .

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems is an added advantage.

  • A good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
